Ending July With A Bang ~

    July has been oh so sweet to me; even despite being stuck in a depressive funk for a week. This month has been full of explosive blooms in the garden, lots of cake, painting/creating, and also reflecting. 

     The gardens have been insane; vegetable and flower gardens have had so many blooms! I love adding such a cozy vibe of freshly cut flowers in my home, but even more I love gifting the flowers I've grown as a token of appreciation to those given. Cutting flowers has been the perfect medicine on those mentally rainy days for me and provides the right amount of sunshine to crack a smile of contentment to get through. 

    Lots of sweets have been consumed during this month but especially the week of Piper's birthday. We had lots of fun celebrating for a whole week (basically) and dedicating an entire day to shopping and an Applebee's date - all her choice and absolutely 11/10 day. Watch out world, Little Miss is five going on fifteen....

    I've been creating so much art this month; digitally and traditionally. From drawing in my sketchbook, to painting on a canvas, to digitally creating fun pieces. I'm having so much fun letting this spark of creativity ignite into something bigger ~ I had to lose a bit of my old self to successfully do this though. I'm my own worst enemy and too much of a perfectionist; but once I talked myself out of that mindset and took myself back to teenage me when I was on the floor of my very messy bedroom with collage supplies, paint and all the things I needed- blasting my favorite emo music to inspire more emotion, not caring if what I made was good or not because it was just for me and I was just having fun. So that's what I've been doing; sitting on my floor, making art, and having so much fun while doing it. 

    It seems to be a curse how emotionally and mentally aware I am sometimes. I sit awake at night reflecting on things I've done wrong, things I maybe didn't do, or just reflecting on how I got to this day to type out this blog post. I think it's incredibly important to be aware of yourself and your feelings, but I think one can be 'too aware' - not only do I overanalyze my art, but I overanalyze myself and in turn, that makes me forget how to live. I spent a bit of time in a weird funk, but despite that, I finally managed to pull myself out of it. Although, I'm not sure I'll ever remember to relax my jaw without a constant reminder.

     Due to my lack of sleep/my brain not wanting to shut off, it has allowed my eyeballs to fixate on the TV screen for hours. I made it through a large list of shows and movies, almost too large that I don't even want to admit.  However, here's a few favorites to highlight from this month:
